This term we are working on decimals and 7,8,9, multiplication. The reason we are leaning about this is so we can get better at math. The next step is we are going to do percentages.

Hola Amigos!
This week we are learning about other cultures, the cultural our class is studying is Mexico!
We are making Sombreros and ponchos to make for the cultural parade.
Below is a picture of Hector, he is a very mature boy in our Year 6 class!
We are going to make Mexican food like nachos, tortilla chips and salsa.
We are making sombreros and the end bit is made with lego :)
The sombreros are made with paper and mexican designs.
We were also learning mexican language and about the Mayan people.
When the Mayan's built the pyramids they where very brainy.
They used a different calendar, which Mr P says is more accurate than the one we use today.

Tread Lightly Caravan
Today we had a visit from the Tread Lightly Caravan
During the visit we took a video of one of the activities. Here is a video of Heamasi on the electric bike, when you pedal it it creates electricity which powered a light, which powered a solar panel, which power the wind mill. The windmill was made of lego.
This photo is from another activity about E-waste!

Today was a Good Day!
Today we learned about following instructions in reading and a result we made several things.
Most of us learned about origami. We used ipads to find instructions online and follow them.
Another group read about how to make a wind turbine that produces electricity. It will take us a while to finish, but this is what we did today.
Some people from the wind turbine group even used Lego Adapter to make wind mills, that actually lifted weight!
